Hammertime

Elmhurst, IL: So I'm in the library, flipping through an older book on anatomy. A few seats down, a young woman flies in with her noisy black leather coat and bags, collapses down in the seat and brandishes her laptop computer. Obviously she is on a mission. Fair enough. Many people bring laptops into the library. But then she starts typing--or should I say pounding on the keyboard--like a drummer in the marching band. At this point I thought I would stare a hole into the side of her head until she noticed my displeasure with her noisemaking. Didn't work. So I used my ultimate revenge: I drew a sketch of her!  Materials: Pentel Hi-Tec-C pen on sketchbook

  1. And I love the depth! It is always so amazing to see depth and then remember the flatness of the paper surface! Ha!

  2. Thank you Barbara, Alex and Lucas. @Alex, I saw a photo of a sketchbook where the artist had created little line drawings and turned them into a pop-up book. Talk about giving dimension to the flat paper! I think I will try that on one of the SketchCrawls :)
